Report Owner
Own the end-to-end certification of regulatory reports including Call Reports, HMDA, and other regulatory filings.
What Report Owners Do in CoComply
Report Owners are responsible for certifying that each regulatory report is accurate, complete, and supported by properly governed data. CoComply structures this work into a repeatable certification workflow that produces defensible audit evidence at every step.
- Identify and register Critical Data Elements (CDEs) that feed each report line item
- Assign data owners to each CDE and track certification completion
- Review data quality thresholds and exception reports before filing
- Execute the final report certification with digital sign-off
- Respond to examiner questions with pre-packaged evidence packages
The Report Certification Workflow
CoComply's report certification follows five sequential stages:
- Stage 1: Scoping. Define which report schedules are in scope and map them to data sources.
- Stage 2: CDE Identification. Confirm the full list of CDEs for each schedule.
- Stage 3: Data Owner Assignment. Assign accountability for each CDE to a named individual.
- Stage 4: Certification. Data owners certify each CDE; exceptions are flagged for review.
- Stage 5: Report Sign-Off. Report owner reviews certification summary and provides final attestation.
Call Report Specifics
For FFIEC 041 and 051 filers, CoComply maintains a pre-built CDE library mapped to MDRM codes across all schedules including RC, RC-B, RC-C, RC-E, RC-K, RC-N, RC-R, and RI. This eliminates manual mapping work and reduces scoping effort by up to 70 percent.
Managing Exceptions
When a CDE fails certification due to data quality issues or missing ownership, CoComply creates a structured finding with a root cause classification, remediation owner, and target date. Report owners can track all open exceptions from a single dashboard view and decide whether to file with a documented exception or delay until resolved.
